Happy Thanksgiving from Ada
by Andy on Nov.28, 2008, under Michigan

Happy Thanksgiving yall! We’re chilling over here at the Aupperlees. Dave grilled a bird and Karen whipped up some dishes. Emily brought the Michigan State Spartan style party [via bar hopping last night], Betsy took the AmTrak from Chicago and I flew from Ronald Reagn National Airport to Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Aaron is still confused about how to use a razor. Anyway, the whole gang is here and we’re just eating, drinking and talking.

According to Dave, this is one of the most under-appreciated aspects of grilling a turkey: the critical move from flame to pan. It involved stabbing with one hand and tonging with the other.

Holy Aupperlees! Lookin good, yall. Don’t look too closely, but the Lions are being killed on that TV. Not Lions from Afrika, but those losers from Detroit. No, not those losers from Detroit (sorry Alan), I am talking about the football team. And no, Emily did not drink both bottles of wine all by herself (we tried to help her).

Enough football/auto industry talk, let’s get to the food! The meal started with a squash bisque–one of Karen’s finest to date. After enjoying the bisque and retelling some stories from the night before, I moved onto the main dish. Starting at 12 o’clock: mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, white meat, dark meat, yams and of course, corn in the middle.

What are we up to now? The girls went to go see the new James Bond flick and the boys are watching Gossip Girl on DVD. Aaron and I are on episode 4 of season 1. <3 u Little J, S, Chuckles, Nate “I’m going for a walk” Archibald, B, Rufus, Lonely Boy.
Go to 29:00 to hear Alan talk about the human spirit.
Inspired yall?
HAPPY THANKSGIVING from your friends at The Andy Aupperlee Explosion 5000!

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Aupperlees! Nice pics Andy – original composition, great saturated color. The family looks as intelligent as ever.
